St. Peters Coat of Arms
This coat of arms depicts the heraldic emblems used by the Holy See as well as the Vatican City-State. It shows the papal tiara (or triregno) surmounting the crossed keys of St. Peter. These keys (mentioned in Matthew's gospel) represent the power to bind and to loose given to St. Peter and the other apostles by Christ
The Ambassadors of St. Peter Guilde (aka the Pirates of St. Pete) is a group of historic Renaissance actors whose purpose is to bring Renaissance history to Southern California in a fun, festive, and educational way.  We provide an accepting and positive environment for members to develop their characters and acting skills through historic re-enactments.

Our fundamental philosophy allows for each actor to not only conduct a historical background search of their chosen historical individual; but we also encourage each player to enhance their characterization by adding a personal flair to each role.

When we are acting at a Renaissance faire we portray landowners who are envoys of the Pope.  At each presentation we provide the audience with a fun-filled performance, while educating them about the life and times of the Renaissance period.  This education includes a Sunday Catholic Church Service at Noon.

Renaissance Music of the time!!
Ambassadors of St. Peter Cross is an adaptation of the King Henry III long cross with three pellets in the corners. The three pellets represent the Catholic Trinity.
In the Middle Ages it was believed that the pope used no pastoral staff or crozier, because St. Peter had sent his episcopal staff to St. Eucharius;  The same instance, however, is related of several other alleged disciples of St. Peter, and more recent criticism interprets the staff as the distinctive mark of an envoy, especially of a missionary. Missionaries in subsequent centuries, were occasionally called ambassadors of St. Peter, the pope  who sent them being the successor of Peter.  The members of the Ambassadors of St. Peter Guilde us this basic fundamental in our mission while performing at fair.  While we do have Royals and Nobels within our guilde. It will always be the mission of the guilde to represent the pope and the catholic church as his  ambassadors.
When we are acting at a pirates faire, we portray our alter egos in the Pirates of St. Pete;  bawdy and outspoken pirates looking for the next booty. We have lost our ship because we were so drunk during one of our ports of call, that when we returned to the dock, we accidentally boarded the wrong ship. By the time we returned to the port, our real ship was missing, stolen, or lost.  So now we are on the rampage trying to find the thieves so we can have our ship returned to us.  Soon would be nice or we will searrrrrch you out.  RRRRR.
So come on join already!! rrrrruuuufffff

Once upon a time, in the midst of social chaos, there was born a moment of Pleasure. It sprang from the hearts of a generation called Love. It leapt, danced and sang all the songs of Spring that had lain dormant for hundreds of years. -Billy Scudder
